Introducing The Alternate Rebellion Photo shoot – A Vintage and Alternative Vibe
Location: CS Photo Studio, Northampton
Models: Molly and Gemma
Inspiration: 40s/50s Vs Alternative Fashion
We are very fortunate at The Alternate Rebellion to have our very own in-house professional photographer and stylist. This means that we are able to do many photo shoots throughout the year. When we know that we have a lot of stock arriving, we will book Studio time so that we can get as many photos on the website as possible. The one thing that we pride ourselves on is showing how the clothes look on our models, who are both very different in size and body shape.
In this photo shoot, we wanted to show some of the new lines that have recently arrived as well as enhancing some of our current lines. We decided to show a feminine vintage inspired look against the gothic / alternative look and instead of changing the models around, each model did their own individual look. Both Molly and Gemma, our multi-talented models, do their own hair and makeup, and they look incredible.
Some of the styles and brands that we highlighted in this photoshoot were:
- Collectif – Cardigans
- Hell Bunny – Playsuits / Nautical Tops
- Dolly and Dotty
- Voodoo Vixen
A 40’s inspired look using a black pencil skirt and basic white vest top with the cute scarf around her neck. Gemma has created fabulous Victory Rolls in her hair to make the look more authentic.
A sexy alternative pin-up look is what was being created here, using red leggings, heels and a slashed long sleeve stretch top. Molly wears her hair down to make the look more feminine.
A cute vintage inspired nautical look was created here. A very smart and wearable everyday look for the Summer months. This could be worn with trainers as shown here or with red or navy heels to dress it up a bit.
A feminine alternative look was created here using our funky ladybird patterned leggings and matching top. This is a look that you won’t find on the high street and is great if you want to stand out from the crowd.
The Final Stage – Editing the Photos
After 5 hours of shooting in the Studio, you can imagine there are a lot of photos for Martin to go through and edit. Once these are edited, the photos are then uploaded onto the website and our Ebay store. We like to show the clothing from all angles and shoot close ups of the patterns and designs so that our customers have a clear visual idea of what the item looks like.
A lot of hard work goes into making the photoshoot go smoothly, from booking the venue, to putting the looks together, to hiring the models and ensuring that they have the right outfits as well as sourcing shoes and accessories to match the outfits and create the overall look. The models put in a lot of effort to pull it all together.
Finally, we just wanted to say a big thank you to all who were involved and also to wish Gemma the very best of luck in her new role as Disney Princess at Euro Disney starting next month. We think you will be amazing.
